Continuo Theatre will close the year 2023 with the premiere of a new production CARRIERS Ltd.

A movement-visual confession about the aging of the human body, fragility, beauty, and the experience of the meaningfulness of one’s existence between imagination and reality, movement and words, sounds and silence, needs and dreams.
Under the direction of Kateřina Šobáňová, the Swiss performer Stefan Bütschi will appear on stage in a solo production.
The premiere will take place on 16 December 2023 at 7 pm at the Plum Yard in Malovice. Afterwards we invite you to a Christmas party.
Workshop presentation with Roberta Carreri

We cordially invite you to the next public presentation of the workshop from the series “Continuo Theatre Workshops led by foreign lecturers”. The workshop was led by Italian lecturer, actress and writer Roberta Carreri from Odin Teatret in Denmark. The workshop was attended by actors from the Continuo Theatre’s permanent team as well as foreign students who came from Greece, Germany and Switzerland. At the end of this working meeting, there will be a public presentation during which you will have the opportunity to see the results of the intensive workshop led by a renowned theatre actress, and you will also have the opportunity to ask her about aspects of her work.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, October 31 at 3:00 pm at the Plum Yard!
The workshop is realized within the framework of the project entitled “Continuo Theatre Workshops under the guidance of foreign lecturers” with the financial participation of the EU through the National Recovery Plan and the Ministry of Culture.

We are very happy that our production has won two international awards. At the Lalka też Człowiek festival in Warsaw, Poland, we received the Award for “Theatrical Expression through Puppetry” from the expert jury and also the Audience Award.

WORKSHOP PRESENTATION

We would like to invite you to the public presentation of the workshop of Continuo Theatre, which will take place on Saturday 14.10.2023 at 14:00 at the Plum Court in Malovice. The workshop will be attended by students from HAMU in Prague under the guidance of foreign lecturers Corrina Vitale (Accademia Dimitri) and Sara Bocchini (Continuo Theatre).
The workshop is implemented with the financial support of the EU through the National Recovery Plan and the Ministry of Culture.

LAYERS – A LOOK BACK AND AUTUMN TRAVELS

We bring you a look back at this year’s site-specific project LAYERS, which we presented at the Plum Yard in Malovice from 18 to 20 July. You can see a photo gallery from this year’s project here. Thank you to everyone who came to see it, as well as to all the artists and the entire production and technical team.
Shortly after the summer project, we flew to the FIAMS festival in Saguenay, Canada, where we performed Hic Sunt Dracones twice.

Continuo Theatre is preparing the first premiere of this year.
On Saturday, 13 May, you can look forward to the performance of HOW TO PEEL AN ONION WITHOUT CRYING – a visual theatre essay on the issues of human perception and the creation of what we call reality. Six performers, under the direction of the company’s director Pavel Štourač, try to capture with their bodies at least hints of answers to the elementary existential questions of man.

It is unbelievable, but it has been thirty years since we founded Continuo Theatre in autumn 1992. We consider the anniversary important, so we are going to organize some events to celebrate it. We are looking forward to meeting you at any of them. Now we are preparing a festival week in Prague on 19 – 24 September 2022 and we are going to invite a lot of theatre guests, friends, colleagues, and outstanding personalities from our country as well as from abroad. OPEN CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL SITE-SPECIFIC PROJECT 2022

Continuo Theatre will host an international site-specific project in South Bohemia (Malovice and České Budějovice, Czech Republic) from the 4th July to 7th August, 2022 with a title AGORA.
The participants can be actors, performers, dancers, visual artists and musicians with theatrical experience in the language of movement, sound or stage design (art school studies, theatre group members, personal projects).

NOON ARTISTIC DOCUMENTARY
The Continuo Theatre has prepared an artistic documentary of the NOON performance for the new format of the AKCENT Festival. The film combines unique site-specific fragments from the performance, video recordings of interviews with participants of the demonstration against the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968, historical documents, film and radio recordings. This documentary doesn´t reflect only the historical event or the creation of the NOON performance. Reflecting on the news and events of recent years, it questions the objectives and meaning of the civic stance of individuals in the context of current societal and political situations in Central Europe.
The online documentary will be broadcast on Tuesday 24th of November at 8PM on the website of the AKCENT Festival.
THEATRE NIGHT 2020
The Theatre Night is moving online this year and as such the Plum Yard offers its space to artists who intertwine their work with the genius loci of this unique place. You can look forward to several untraditional scenes from the performances of the Continuo Theatre – Zuna and MONSTRUM_and here I am blind. You can also meet a singer, performer and choreographer Cécile da Costa and her Roselyne. Last guests will be the artistic trio Elia Moretti, Roman Zotov-Mikshin, Inga Zotova-Mikshina with fragments of their performance FERST DADLER.
Viewers will not only discover some of the hidden corners of the Plum Yard, but will also have a chance to experience the singular connection of dance, theatre and music through the lens of a camera.

Continuo Theatre is coming back again to a small pond called Otrhanec not far from Plum Yard to change its surroundings into a theatre stage in the open air. The shores and surface, fields, meadows, unpaved roads, treetops as well as the unused local railway are going to become the settings for theatre scenes and art and sound installations.

PROMISED LAND Festival, Plum Yard, Malovice, Sept. 20 – 23

From the 21st to 23rd of September 2018 Continuo Theatre will hold an international festival of theatre, music, and food named Promised Landin The Plum Yard in Malovice (CZ). In its frame, artists of various nationalities living in the Czech Republic on a long-term basis will perform. Among the performers are musicians and theatre makers from four continents: Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Concerts, theatre, and dance performances for both adults and children by artists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, USA, Japan, Syria and Burkina Faso will be accompanied by the tasting menu of the European and exotic cuisine.
The festival is organized as part of the long-term project that Continuo Theatre created in collaboration with the Italian university Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi and other European universities. During the festival, the spectators will have the opportunity to see several performances done by students of Czech and Slovak theatre universities in the frame of the project. Promised lands – Metropolis was supported by Creative Europe program.

A THEATRE PERFORMANCE ABOUT FIVE MINUTES OF FREEDOM
The performance called Noon began its preparation in 2017. Its first night performances are planned on 17th March in Malovice and 22nd and 23rd March 2018 in Prague. The performance is based on the book of the same name by Natalya Gorbanevskaya, who was one of eight people who participated in a peaceful demonstration on Red Square as a protest against the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw Treaty armies. NOON is a documentary theatre performance about the events which happened in Red Square in Moscow on 25th August 1968 at 12 am., about the events which preceded the demonstration and especially about the events which followed it. It is a physical theatre that embodying the memories and powerful evidence of former political prisoners about infamous Soviet mental hospitals. At the same time it is a visual art theatre full of insistent scenes based on the poetry by Natalya Gorbanevskaya, Vadim Delon and other Soviet dissidents poets from the 1960s and 1970s. Live music produced by a string quartet is an integral part of the performance.

Continuo Theatre is preparing the jubilee 20th edition of the International Theatre Project. Spectators are invited to Plum Yard to see a performance called A Boat. During the performance Plum Yard is going to be transformed into a stylized boat. The performance will take place in the middle of a dance floor. The audience will see all the events from three sides through the windows associating a view from a boat cabin.

WRONG SIDE OUT – FIRST NIGHT

The first night of WRONG SIDE OUT production will happen on April 2nd in Malovice and on April 8th in Prague in Studio Alta. After the performances Victim and Neighbours it is the third production, which finds inspiration in specific painful historical events of the 20th century. WRONG SIDE OUT has been inspired by the life and memories of Italian jazz pianist who performed under the pseudonym Romano Full.

Po pěti měsících stavebních prací jsme dne 30.6. obdrželi kolaudační souhlas na zrekonstruovaný Švestkový Dvůr. A hned, jak jsme se trochu vyspali ze závěrečného finiše, začali přípravy na slavnostní otevření našeho statku. To se uskuteční 24. a 25.7. 2015 a všichni jste srdečně zvání na dvoudenní festival s názvem OTVÍRAČKA///RE:OPENING.

Rekonstrukce Švestkového Dvora, sídla Divadla Continuo, která začala na podzim loňského roku je v plném proudu a chýlí se k závěru. A protože všichni od rána do noci čistíme cihly, hoblujeme prkna a natíráme podlahy, nestíháme se už pravidelně starat o naše stránky. Přesto můžete proces pokračující rekonstrukce sledovat na našem facebookovém profilu, kam pravidelně umisťujeme fotky a texty. Zároveň Vás už nyní zveme na slavnostní otevření Švestkového Dvora, které proběhne na konci července 2015. Rozhodli jsme se vás, naše přátele a podporovatele potěšit a máme pro vás dobrou zprávu – vyřešili jsme Vánoce za vás!
Připravili jsme pro vás originální balíčky ze Švestkového Dvora, jejichž zakoupením se potěšíte hned dvakrát – dobrým pocitem z podpory smysluplného projektu a radostí z originálního dárku. Jednotlivé balíčky jsme pojmenovali podle základních teoretických principů dramatu, jež ustanovil (nejen pro divadelníky) učitel nejpříhodnější – řecký filosof Aristotelés. CELÁ ZPRÁVA…
REKONSTRUKCE ŠVESTKOVÉHO DVORA ZAČNE NA PODZIM

Téměř dvacet let od chvíle, kdy jsme v roce 1995 koupili starý statek ve vesnici Malovice a pojmenovali ho Švestkový Dvůr, stojíme krůček od splnění jednoho z našich velkých snů. Po čtyřech letech intenzivní práce se nám podařilo zajistit finanční prostředky na celkovou rekonstrukci objektu a výstavbu nového moderního multifunkčního divadelního prostoru. Naše vize, se kterou jsme Švestkový Dvůr kupovali, vytvoření tvůrčího prostoru pro setkávání lidí, kulturu, divadlo a pedagogiku se tak naplňuje. Rekonstrukce objektu a výstavba nového divadelního sálu začne na podzim 2014 a bude dokončena již v červnu 2015. Slavnostní otevření je plánováno na léto téhož roku.
Radost, kterou zažíváme se mísí s vědomím závazku, který společně s penězi přijímáme. Jsme přesvědčeni, že peníze a jejich investice do jakýchkoli hmotných věcí nejsou sami o sobě hodnotou, pokud tím nevzniká zároveň něco, co slouží smysluplné činnosti.
A jsme si vědomi, že do tohoto bodu bychom nikdy nedošli bez lidí, kteří nás podporují a drží nám palce. Proto patří velký dík všem, kteří nám na naší cestě k rekonstrukci Švestkového Dvora jakkoli pomohli, zejména pak těm, kteří nás podpořili v závěrečné fázi přípravy projektu v květnu tohoto roku.
VZPOURA NA PŮDĚ!

Na Švestkovém Dvoře vypukla vzpoura! Všechny loutky, které kdy hrály v některé z inscenací Divadla Continuo se vzbouřily proti nevyhovujícím podmínkám uskladnění, proti nekončícímu obtěžování hmyzem a kočkami, ale hlavně proti rozebírání a recyklaci ze strany samotných tvůrců. Po drobných i větších úpravách se na protest odstěhovaly do prachatického Muzea české loutky a cirkusu, kde je můžete až do 19. října vidět v rámci výstavy „Vzpoura na půdě – loutky Divadla Continuo obsadily muzeum“.
INSCENACE DEN OSMÝ BYLA OCENĚNA NA SKUPOVĚ PLZNI

Chtěli bychom se s vámi podělit o radost z ocenění, kterého se dostalo inscenaci Den osmý na festivalu profesionáních loutkových a alternativních divadel Skupova Plzeň. Pavel Štourač, umělecký vedoucí souboru a režisér inscenace obdržel cenu odborné poroty za syntézu elementů těla, loutky a hlasu. Děkujeme všem, kteří nás podporujete a držíte nám palce. Příště si můžete naše loutky užít 30.6. v Divadle Na zábradlí na festivalu Apostrof!.
LETNÍ TVŮRČÍ DÍLNA A FESTIVAL NA ŠVESTKOVÉM DVOŘE

Od roku 1997 patří k létu Divadla Continuo pravidelný mezinárodní site-specific projekt, v jehož rámci vzniká ve vybraném nedivadelním prostoru jedinečné divadelní představení. Letos jsme se rozhodli otevřít na dva týdny bránu, dveře a zákoutí Švestkového Dvora jak zájemcům o tvůrčí dílny, tak následně divákům. Od 24. 7. do 27. 7. 2014 budete mít možnost v rámci čtyřdenního festivalu zhlédnout na Švestkovém Dvoře performance a instalace, které vzniknou z tvůrčích dílen, stejně jako koncerty a několik divadelních představení našeho souboru a spřátelených divadel. …CELÁ ZPRÁVA…
