Mrakavy

A performance based on Moravian folk ballads and songs about love, war, and death from the collection of František Sušil.

Mrakavy is a Moravian word and it is difficult to say what it actually means. Perhaps something like dark clouds, fog, perhaps even gloom, maybe even a sign of death.

However, every dark cloud has its silver lining. And before death comes, there is time to do many things.

You can drink, sing, laugh, and above all, love, because love can overcome death.

At least for a while, at least in our performance.

The story, performed with wooden puppets and live music, begins simply: Janíček loves Andulka, and Andulka loves Janíček.
