INTERNATIONAL THEATRE SITE-SPECIFIC PROJECT

The annual international theater site-specific project has been organized by the Continuo Theater since 1997. This year it will take place for the twenty-fifth time. And the Continuo Theater decided to celebrate this small anniversary directly at its headquarters in Švestkový Dvůr, where 6 public performances of the project called ROOMS will take place.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Since 1997, the Continuo Theatre has been organizing a regular summer project – a creative meeting of performers of various backgrounds, approaches and nationalities. During the four weeks when the project participants work together in the former farmstead called Plum Yard, home of the Continuo Theatre in Malovice, South Bohemia, a unique theatrical performance will be created, which is then presented to the public in one of the non-theatrical venues in the near or distant surroundings of Plum Yard.

The Continuo Theatre comes up with a theatrical metaphor that turns everything upside down and through which the creators try to reflect on the current situation. It brings together the exterior and public solitude in the open air with intimate confessions, stories and situations normally hidden behind the walls of our private spaces. As is already typical for the specific theatrical style of Continuo, the ROOMS project also combines the language of expressive physical theatre with unmistakable artistic poetry and live musical composition.

The ensemble of Continuo invited ten young artists, art school students and young professionals from all over Europe to take part in the project and to inhabit the “rooms” that will be created in the outdoor area of Plum Yard. Visitors will be able to attend several interconnected small and large theater stages in any order and spend as much time there as they wish.
