Ivan Jurecka’s solo project The Victim deals with the topic of medical and human ethics in an extreme situation. It tells of the genesis of the intoxication of power and inquires about the meaningfulness or senselessness of human suffering, concentration camp at the end of World War II and especially from the interviews and personal testimony of survivors, former concentration
camp prisoners.
The project looks back in horror to ask in puzzlement how this could have happened and how things could have gone so far, to such monstrous dimensions. It gradually reveals the devilish means by which evil sneaks up on people, feeding on their indi erence and irresponsibility.
